Fitness Equipment Gym Mats are gym mats constructed for use under treadmills, station bikes, stairmasters and elliptical machines in both residential & commercial areas.

Both foam and rubber mats available:

--Foam gym mats are perfect for home use and light-duty commercial use (such as in hotel gyms).

--Rubber mats have a denser construction and area ideal for heavier-use / commercial environments.

• Available in 2 thicknesses: 1/4" thick foam mats and 3/16" thick rubber/vinyl mats.

• Both types of gym mats are treated with an anti-microbial agent to prevent bacterial growth.

Will the fitness equipment matting slide around the floor if I'm doing an intense workout?

These fitness mats should stay in place well on virtually any type of flooring when used under exercise equipment (treadmills, stationary bikes, rowing machines, steppers, ellipticals, etc). The weight of the equipment does a great job keeping the mats where they should be!

I received the fitness mat but it's a little too long - can I cut it down?

Absolutely. You can easily and cleanly cut these mats using a razor (utility) knife with a fresh blade. It's best to score the mat once or twice first to ensure a clean cut. Cutting the mat down won't affect the durability/longevity of the product in any way.

What's the best way to clean these mats?

The fitness equipment mats are designed to take punishment while having water (and sweat) drip on them. For the foam mats: sweep off any dirt/debris as needed and wipe down with a slightly damp cloth/mop with a hint of soap. For rubber mats, sweep as needed and, in addition to wiping down, these mats can also be scrubbed with a soft brush. Most cleaning, however, can be down with sweeping and simply wiping down.

If using in a fully enclosed basement, do I need to put anything underneath the mat or treadmill?

No, regardless of the temperature, humidity or location, it's not necessary to place anything beneath the exercise equipment nor the mat itself. The material will perform well when on the actual flooring and an anti-microbial surface helps prevent against any mold or mildew buildup.

Should I not use the heavier-duty rubber for use in my apartment? I see you say it's for commercial spaces.

The heavier-duty rubber version of these Fitness Equipment Mats can be used in any environment - it's never wrong to go with the stronger/tougher option.

What's the difference between the Fitness Equipment Gym Mats and the Ultimate-Stand Alone and the Power Platform rubber mats?

Great question! This product, the Fitness Equipment Gym Mats is specifically designed for use under your run-of-the-mill exercise equipment (treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, etc.). The Ultimate Stand Alone Gym Mats is made from the same material as our premium rubber gym flooring and works well when used in and around weight machines and free weights (and is also better when doing cardio workouts). The Power Platform Rubber Mats are a dense, vulcanized rubber that is predominantly used for power lifting stations. The 3/4" thick, extreme-duty composition of that rubber along with the beveled edges and ultra high-traction surface make it ideal for serious workout areas!
